I'm pleased to report that Saturday was worthwhile and productive especially towards the end of the day. I happened to go with a friend to see "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", the first film of Marilyn Monroe's I've even seen. I'll admit that it wasn't really a great film, but seeing the basis for the creation of a cultural icon is interesting.

After the film ended, she...

That wasn't an unconnected drivelling post full of unformed thoughts and excessive use of smilies, blush tongue surreal mad love frown whatever EL SUICIDO LOCO EL SUICIDO LOCO EL SUICIDO LOCO ARRR!!! You've let me down, please try harder in the future.

As for Marylin Monroe films I can heartily recommend Some Like It Hot (though I've never seen it in one sitting). Marylin's character is a slutty alcoholic who would never be a leading lady in hollywood nowadays, so that's fantastic, and the bizarre gender-bending flexi-sexual men at the end were well ahead of their time. Big plus points.

And don't listen to Leola. She is nice eye-candy but doesn't have two brain cells to rub together.

Right, I'm off to run away from Leola who is brandishing sharp things and shouting.

Bye

As the weekend starts, I'm hoping to tidy up my place, see "Million Dollar Baby", secure my plans for next weekend in San Diego, and hear all about my newly "out" bisexual friend's first time in a lesbian bar (she seems very excited for Saturday night). I'll be interested to see if ANY of these goals are achieved.

I can already speak Welsh: Yakidah! See? (Sorry if I spelt it wrong, I am Welsh-dyslexic). You're right about 1984 - especially the fake war enemy thing. xx
When people in the US say stuff like 'Just off to San Diego', it sounds so godamned cool. Does it have the same effect if I say 'Just off to Devon'? Ha!

Having a three-day weekend is good. Learning that I had one only about a week or two ago made it even better. No idea what will actually happen on my three days away, but I'm at least pleased that my long-standing 'Sunday night anxiety' will have at least one week away.

I was going to head to Glacier National Park with two of my friends,...

I might watch it then - but only to see if they can match the whole 'Colin Firth stepping out of the lake all dripping wet' thing.......x

Good lord, Aishwarya Rai is stunning. The movie "Bride & Prejudice" was enjoyable stuff, but I was transfixed by her. If you've never seen her before, imagine an Indian Angelina Jolie.

Fuck you, Gary Bettman. Screw you, NHL owners. And players? Dudes, you just have to accept the new reality: the owners aren't giving in this time. I can't believe that there won't be...

Clover said to say Hi - so Hi! And have a good Thursday smile
Apart from stunning women, is Bride and Prejudice worth watching - I thought it looked a little corny.....?

yeah...my buddy in the picture is a huge Islanders fan so he's right there with you in the great hate for the Rangers.

Next year man...next year.

You don't know how happy I am to find a mutual Hockey fan here at the SG. It's odd.

I just don't like deadlines...even if they're perfectly reasonable ones. I have to complete a handful of projects which need completion over the next few months, but, somehow, my mind is making it into FAR more of a concern than it actually is. Ahh, it's fun being anxious! Still, another day without *real* problems in life is pretty damned nice...

The NHL might actually get...

Buddy...I cared about the NHL season more than anyone you will ever ever meet here at the SG. If you're originally from Maine then you'll know what I mean. I'm just an hour north of the border in NB, Canada.

I can't fucking believe that the players went for the cap and Bettman fucking still cancelled the season.

Fucker.

Did I mention that the Mark Ryden exhibit at the Frye was great? I think I did. Besides, I'm not so sure how many people read these banalities anyway! smile

Now that was good: I heard from my friends Scott & Lisa for the first time in probably 1 1/2 years the other day. I have to give them credit because I think that they were the ones who had first led me down the SuicideGirls path. Huzzah!

Be sure to see the movie "Millions" if you can. I was in attendance during a free preview in Seattle a few nights ago and it was well worth every penny I paid. And, smart-ass remarks aside, it honestly was a good film. I've heard that the director for the film is the same who did "Trainspotting." Of course, I've been told that the two...

I had the good fortune to see the movie "Millions" this evening. Go see it if you can. Far better than the decent-but-overrated "Sideways."

Why must humans be so vexing? A friend of mine (or at least I thought she was) seems wholly incapable of responding to any e-mail or voice message I send. Then again, if that's my biggest concern of the evening, I'm...

Just back from a weekend in San Francisco and, if I didn't already live in a terrific city, I'd have to be seriously considering a move to the Bay Area. Who'd have ever guessed that life with the threat of a significant earthquake would be so enticing? I was glad to catch the end of the Super Bowl at the airport, but even better was...

I can't help but think that I should have more substance to add to this journal, but, apparently, I'm fairly bereft in that regard these days. After all, my most pressing question of the night has been, "What should I do when I'm down in San Francisco?" You have to think that, of all the issues people face as the day winds down, this one...

The thermometer in Seattle currently reads 57. Back in the parts of Maine in which I used to live, the ground is packed with snow and wind chills are nearly -20. I love Seattle.

I have to think that the Philadelphia Eagles will win today. That said, I just hope that the New England Patriots can find a way to make it to the Super...
