Why does it always take me so long to come around to thinking that strikes others years before? To wit...I quite like the Radiohead song "Creep." Perhaps I can blame the terrible radio stations in Portland, Maine for my delayed appreciation?

Your aproach is differnt and on a higher ground than mine - I am unable to just appreciate life for what it is (thus far) - I am always struggling to make it into something more, like the ones (now dead) I admire did.
William Shatner's spoken-word version of Pulp's "Common People" has been out for months, but only now have I realised that I like it. Captain Kirk is probably a complete jerk in person, but his bizarre rendition of "Rocket Man" back in the 1970s was enough to give me an appreciation for his oddness.

I have a number of thoughts in mind, but each one feels distinctly common. And, really, I repeat myself often enough as it is.
I'll be seeing the redwoods of northern California (the Arcata / Eureka area) this weekend. I'm hoping that that will be good. Certainly should be.

I'll be seeing ice and fucking snow this weekend. Have fun in sunny Cali.
Duirng this past weekend, in an effort to make sure that I find a way to lose a few pounds I've added over time, I made a bold promise: if I'm not 11 pounds less than I am now by Independence Day, I'm going to write a check to the
Republican National Committee. I think that this negative motivation will be enough to do the...

64 degrees in Seattle and a day of at-home vegetating is working well for me. I'd thought that I would go into the office for a few hours, but, as usual, once the weekend vibe enters my bloodstream, little will change my office aversion until Monday morning.

No bigger surprise happened today than hearing "The Humpty Dance" on KEXP this afternoon. I don't like everything it plays, but, really, what a great station it is. You can even stream their audio in real time:

San Diego is an eminently pleasant city. Its temperate climate and proximity to the ocean are, in my mind, legitimate reasons for its popularity. That said, the city really does seem to be a bit lacking in identity. I had a good time there, but SF and LA are much more interesting cities to visit.
That said, I did get a great tip from a...

I don't know if I waste time or money more. Perhaps I should test out both and see the results.
With any luck, Chris Rock won't be asked back to host the Oscars next year. That doesn't mean that I don't like him as the choice for host---in fact, it's just the opposite. I haven't watched that joke of an awards ceremony in years, but,...

Where are you going? And no, Mr. Crabbs isn't my boss. I have a 24 year old girl for a boss. She is religious and can't comprehend hanging with your peers in a social setting. Time to move on me thinks.
I wonder if the rain will be letting up in southern California by the time I get there on Friday night? Nothing I can do about it either way, of course.

A planned weekday off from work usually entails some sort of travel plans, but I admit that I'm enjoying this quiet day in Seattle very much. The weather is cooperating (yet again), but this has a bit of a down side: it's a bit hazy over the mountains and the grass is nowhere near as green as it should be. Please come back, rain, some...

Ol' Maine hasn't wronged me yet. Well, except for my car breaking down briefly inside a parking garage in the middle of a snowstorm in Portland. Other than that, so far so good!

Oh..if I go to Amsterdam I'll be sure not to post any of my adventures. Not because I'm worried about uptight motherfuckers, but because my wife wouldn't need to know about that shit!
I don't know about my dreams. Sometimes they conincide with shit other times they don't. It's pretty random. I don't know what to think of them. I'm buddhist, so I feel that we are all karmically linked and I also believe in chaos theory which states that everything, no matter how random it seems, was meant to happen.
The closest I've ever come to predicting something from a dream was last year on April 15th. I had a dream where a man just walked up to me and said "39 days". 39 days later over a 1000 people died in flash floods in the Dominican Republic. Oh yeah, I also had a dream about 2 violent tornados side by side just before 9/11.
i don't know.
