The crime wave continues: after having a few cars (my own included) broken into a few weeks ago, one of the storage areas for my apartment building was vandalised last night. I had been giving thought to moving, but I didn't want to do it until at least early 2006. Unfortunately, these instances of petty crime might speed up the process.

My new workplace has...

I'll try to update more often for you..... I've been away this week visiting friends so I have been quieter than usual. xxx

Every day, I usually end up hearing at least a few minutes of political discussion on the radio and, every day, "liberals" can't seem to do anything to contradict the absurdity of the religious right/Republican perspective. At what point did the left get just so damned pitiful?

Tod Solondz has a new movie out in a few days. I'd always figured that the director of...

Sorry, I never eat in Toronto. If I do,it's after a show at the Veggi Dog stand... yummm.. The only time I enjoy Veggi Dogs.

The plan was in place: my visiting parents and I were going to head down to Mt. St. Helens for a day trip here on Sunday (they haven't been there since 1994 and will be heading back to Maine on Tuesday). Unfortunately, both my mom and I have been rendered ill over the last 24 hours and, as a result, I'm achy with a complete...

Dude,

You should have seen me at McDonalds today. Some 9 year old kid grabbed my 3 year old by the arm and shoved him into the wall of the play center. I'm so proud of myself because I ran into the room, but I didn't hit the kid and I didn't swear. I just said "keep your hands off my boy"

Being a 200 lb man with 0g ears and tats makes me pretty scary because the mom came running in and both her and the little bastard ran out of McDonalds.

Don't mess with my kids.
vkeithv:
that sucks.
every time i go to watercourse, i think the food is better.
and the cakes, wow, they amount of vegan dessert items is amazing.

Damn, some a-hole(s) smashed through my driver side vent window last night (as well as those of others in the area). I don't think he/she./they actually stole anything of value from me, but it's the principle, you know?

that sucks. i remember that happening to a girl i was dating (twice, no, we didn't date twice, they broke into her car twice). it wasn't my car and it still left that sick feeling. too bad, stole a very nice radio both times.
m69:
I live in a small city. 60 000. We've just started to have a problem with wacked out crack heads breaking into cars and shit, stealing to feed their habit. They need a good solid beating.

shit luck brother. we'll catch 'em someday.

The weekend's been good, to be sure, but it certainly did seem to go by quickly. Nevertheless, dinner at Habibi's in Vancouver on Saturday would have made it special all by itself. I don't think I'd been to a vegetarian Lebanese place before...

At the same time, my friend attended an all-women event here in Seattle with the ostensible goal of finding someone comptaible for...

i thought my parents would hate ethiopian for the
simple fact you don't use a fork or a spoon for
the food-and that it's eaten on a weird little
table and horrible chairs. but they loved the
food and i'm sure when they come to visit they'll
eat it again. of course they don't get the veggie
stuff, but still, at least it's something different.

yeah, you can have that cat if you want. she screams
in the morning to be let in my room. she doens't
like closed doors.

My parents and brother will be arriving in Seattle today for a visit. This is certainly a positive, but I do wish that I'd stop spending free moments worrying about work.

ahhh, i hate thinking about work, especially when i'm not there. nice thing, my counterpart is a lot more capable than i am, so i usually have nothing to worry about. just the stuff i'm responsible (important things like plasma, whole blood and other things to save animals lives).
m69:
I have issues leaving work at work too. Actually, speaking about work. I went in super early today to do some catching up and when I got there the front door was open. Shit! Luckily the alarm was still armed. Fucking cleaners.

enjoy the fam.

I was fortunate enough to be in New York City over the weekend. The weather was terrific and I was able to see both friends and family. Unfortunately, as I returned, I didn't feel well as work time arrived on Monday morning and stayed at home for the day. You'll be ever so happy to hear that I'm better now.

For some reason, I saw...

yeah, she's a big fan. but she can be outside in anything but rain and be happy.

hopefully the snow stays in the mountain so i can get one more weekend of good snowboarding. and at cheap costs. but the mtn passes will have snow probably into june, though i'm not sure how stable it will be.

not as big a fan of jessica alba. miho-but deadly little ninjas are just so hot.

No not really, I guess it's just me? I bet you'd be a pro in the chair. It's not that bad really. I still get my stomach in a knot right before I go. I normally listen to my MP3 player and it totally helps me relax. Plus I can't hear the sound of the buzzzzz.

Why are you looking at MY page? I ain't never got nothin' interesting to say!

Wow
vkeithv:
where is the closest Soul Veg to you?

yeah, i know where i stand, and it's not a pretty sight.
but, i know i can't dance, so it's ok.
girls can just bounce at the knee and still look somewhat ok on the dance floor.

oh, i promise, i see any seal-clubbing-asshole i will definitely run them over. and over and over. you get the point.
vkeithv:
boulder is pretty good. not so many veggie restaurants (actually, only one-but it's all vegan and attached to the veggie only co-op. and pretty good, though i'm sick of trying raw foods). but everywhere i go has something i get vegan or made vegan for me. so, it's ok here. denver has watercourse (among others i'm sure) that is all veggie and probably the best biscuits and gravy, tempeh burger and chocolate cake i've ever eaten-anywhere.

with a husky i have to stay on top of the brushing or it might choke the life out of my house.

I've been rather slack on this day, but I did find time to take the recycling down to the bin outside. Just as I get there, I see some shady character wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt wandering around the carport area, clearly up to no good. He hung around for a minute while I was there and wandered off shortly thereafter. I'm pretty sure that...

sadly, nothing bad will probably happen to that asshole.

I try to land at Laguardia, shorter cab ride.

They had an all star charity game for Tsunami relief in Hamilton the other night. East vs. West. There were quite a few big names: Bertuzzi, Draper, Blake, Corson, Brodeur, Joseph, Gilmore, Brewer. Hell, even the place-kicker from the Indianopolis Colts had skates on!

it was entertainment.

"Sin City" combines comic book violence, neo-noir settings, and Jessica Alba stripping. Can you tell I enjoyed it immensely?

wow, that's awesome... i wish we had that in chicago.

Did Jessica actually strip down to some actual flesh? A buddy of mine worked on the Fantastic 4 shoot in Vancouver. He said she's pretty tasty.

Oh yeah. The chicken pox should last for a little over a week.

Now that spring has arrived, winter has hit Seattle. It's a bit cool, rainy, and windy outside and it's supposed to stay that way all week. I'm glad it's here, though: we might be able to avoid the drought, after all. Lately, I've been thinking that I might stay in Seattle for a few more years before I give life in the Southwest a try....

Within the last year, two very good friends of mine started to date one another. I thought that this was good as they were both seemingly quite happy. Yet, in time, I can't help but wonder if theirs is a healthy relationship at all: they almost never leave their apartment, he is bothered whenever he sees pictures of her from 1990 when she was dating...

Glad you liked!

Your friends sound a but full on - I'd be more worried about his jealousy than the fact they never leave the apartment. The former could be an motive for the latter (very unhealthy), whereas if the former didn't exist, the latter could just be a sign of the luved up honeymoon period.
