Going two years between dental visits is a bad idea. Actually, the damage wasn't really done since 2003, but the results aren't good, anyway: three crowns (to replace old fillings/crown) and two new fillings. Thank goodness that I have dental insurance: sometimes, I'm mightily thankful that I chose the practical path of accounting... ARRR!!!

The sun is out today in Seattle. This is good.

A friend...

Heheh.. yeah, everyone on my streets always peers at us. I guess because we are the youngest couple on the street. There would have been some mad peering happening if I had gone with the flow. Good thing I wasn't drinking...

Tomorrow will be the rarest of the rare: a day off from work in which travel is not a factor. Getting a new tire and having my oil changed is pretty pedestrian stuff, but I'm meeting a friend for vegan donuts and coffee. For some reason, a leisurely sugarfest seems all the better when it happens on a weekday.

In three years of attending SIFF...

yep. I've already taken over 300 pics in 2 days. It'll take me a while to figure out all the bells and whistles.

Thanks - it is fun to have a change every now and again! xxx

Wednesday was a day in which much went well for me. Not only have I been granted a free pass to slack off at work for a few days (the sympathy one gets for finishing off a big project is larger than I would have expected), but I was informed of a raise which exceeded inflation. I'm pretty certain that I'm overpaid and exceedingly fortunate,...

i guess since i've run it about 20 minutes faster i was hoping to do so again...without training of course. yeah, i'm happy i ran and i'm not too concerned about the time. next time i'll at least where a watch so i know what my pace is.

boulder probably has one or two more things beyond the CU stadium. we do have those mountain things here too.
deviantsunflower:
Why thank you!! I feel better these days. But then again... that too could be the green stuff.

The heat wave (relative for Seattle) won't last long, but I'm enjoying it while I can. I might well have to live in California/Arizona/Nevada at some point just to see how I respond to intense heat for days and days. I might well end up back in the Northwest, but nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Three more days to go before my biggest annual project at...

yesterday, i don't think it ever cracked 50 degrees. plus it rained all day and was a bit windy too. not fun for running a race. well, not for everyone else, i don't mind the cold. too bad the rain stayed away until my drive home.
the weather out here is so weird...all the time.

No updates... tongue

I was in a fairly decent mood this afternoon when I went across the street to get a pizza for dinner. As I walked back, a older blue car (I can almost never identify them more than that) stops quickly before its turn, largely because the idiot driver was going way too fast. This jerk starts yelling at me for crossing when I did. He...

Loosing it is a piece of cake... I sub two meals with smooties... love it, love it. I am down more lbs... not sure what my weight is today though. I will have to remember to stop once I get closer to my goal. I would hate to get addicted to it and look like Ashley Olsen.

It's a bit scary as to just how much personal information this site offers:

Thank you! As for that site... BRUTAL!! They even have my husband still listed where we lived for 14 months in Louisiana, I forgot my old phone number until just now. Not cool.

That's a little freaky.

Random thoughts and questions that spring to my mind in place of actual significant events of life to detail:

Is any character on Buffy more annoying and shark-jumping than Dawn? I'm halfway through the next-to-last season and I still like the shows, but she may as well be played by Ted McGinley, patron saint of shows on the decline.

Today, Donald Rumsfeld seemed bothered that...

i'm only this active because i'm making up for the last year in chicago when i did nothing. though, i would like to get to bed before 2am (even nights i work i'll stay up that late and usually get out of bed around 730 because the dog wants to play/pee/eat).
and the sgco people are pretty active and all have become friends. so, it's cool. and it's always an incentive to go out when you get to meet and hangout with sg's.
the cheese cake would have been better without the pecans. not a huge fan, otherwise very good.

It's about time I returned to Coffee Messiah for Saturday morning. Damn, it had been a few months since I'd been there for breakfast.

Considering how much (or, more aptly, how little) I drive, I really hate having to shell out so much money for my insurance.

I think I'm going to get a few visitors here this summer. This is good.

But enough about...

To answer your question, from what I observed, Sid Crosby has the potential to be another Lemieux. He sees the whole ice and absolutely loves to set other people up for the goal. He's totally unselfish until the last 5 mins of the game and then he'll strive to get more points. When I watched him, they were playing the Moncton Hawks. He scored a power play goal, a regular strength goal and a shorthanded goal.

NB is kinda like Maine, with one exception. I find the people in Maine are like mutants. There seems to be a destinct drop in intellect once you cross the border heading south. Plus, no offence, but we're Canadians.

I actually live just outside of Fredericton. The town pop. is 60 000 and I love it. We don't have all the concerts and nightlife of a big city, but it's a beautiful town. St. John stinks...blech..pulp mill. Speaking of St. John, there's a family from there called the Irvings. They own 2/3 of Maine. Maybe that's why it seemed similar to you?

Only one more week until the film festival begins. I think that I have 26 films on the schedule including 4 as part of the SIFF's "Secret Festival" where all attendees are required to sign a waiver promising that nothing about the films will be discussed. Seems silly, no?

Damn, do I ever need a haircut. I know that I should make some sort of...

I will be seeing the Stones in Moncton, New Brunswick. They're playing at the site that was set up for the visit from Pope John Paul.

It will be a one day event with 65 000 people and the cost is $99CAD per ticket or about $80 US.

Luckily I have heaps of friends in Monkeytown, so I'll have a place to stay.

...anyone who would spend $450 to see the Stones needs to be stoned biblical style.

More about avocado: only the Hass variety ever seems to be available in the stores. I keep looking for the legendary Fuertes, but to no avail. I'm obviously the unluckiest person in the world ever. Well, ok, maybe not...

Listening to Georgians (or at least English translations of Georgians) speak about GW in such glowing terms shows how easily well-intentioned people can be misled. It's...

Your advocado is my mango. I use to eat the mangos that fruit bats dropped from the tree on my way to work at the bar when I live in Auz. You can never get an Australian mango over here. They're always from Mexico. It just ain't the same.

...it's a nice day here too. And George Bush isn't getting any smarter.

I can't believe that I lived so many years of my life without avocados. I'm amazed at the joy that can come from a simple green fruit.

Work ought to be rather busy this week, but I'm not stressing about the May 31 deadline *quite* as much as I had in recent times. That doesn't mean that I won't be in high anxiety mode come...

Avacados are so good.
I'm surprised when i see a good Simpson's episode now. not that i dislike the new ones...just not as funny.

Considering how much I enjoy tidying my apartment, it's a wonder as to why I don't do it more often.
