I don't usually celebrate billboards, but I'll make an exception in this instance...

my favorite billboards are the very anti-vegetarian/animal right slogans in wyoming and south dakota. big signs telling me i'm not welcome in that state and that fur is life.
i'm psyched on donuts and tofurkey. well, not really the tofurkey right now. i need a break from it for a little while.
xmilitaryxmikex:
dammit! what the hell good is a vegan donut place in Seattle gonna do me when I'm in Texas?! mad

oh well, more reason to hurry up with college and move back. biggrin

A fairly quiet weekend in store, but weird movies should be the main theme. Going to see the utterly bizarre Eraserhead tonight and then down the street for parts of Saturday and Sunday to catch the films of Dennis Nyback at the Grand Illusion.

A question for you all (yeah, I know that there aren't really that many of you, but give me my delusions!):...

I had the good fortune to be in San Francisco this past weekend with my friend Charlene. Every time I see a part of the city on foot (this time was Haight-Ashbury), I realise that there's really no other way to get to know the place. But, damn, for being a temperate place, it was hot on Sunday. Not relative to most of North America,...

Went down the street on a whim to see the very cheesy Mysterious Island at the Grand Illusion. I'm very far removed from knowledgeable on such matters, but it seems to me that Ray Harryhausen's special effects were rather cool.

These chocolate chip cookies will turn me into Jabba the Hutt eventually.

Going to San Francisco with my friend Charlene this weekend. I don't...

Still playing the waiting game. I get very nervous thinking about it. I have so many positive and negative thoughts while waiting, I hate playing head games with myself. All I can do is be very very patient. It's a learning curve for me, that's for sure. wink
vkeithv:
haha, somedays i would! that's even scarier.
oh well. hopefully you don't lose your job. that would suck. but i guess that means a longer weekend for you. always an up side to things i guess.

I can't help but wonder if there is such a thing as caring
TOO much about grades?

And I can't tell you how far removed this idea is from my actual teenage years...

My friend (whom I'd been more or less dating since early in the year) became upset at me this evening when I poked fun at her tendency to *always* have a bottle of water at hand. Sure, I *was* being an idiot (as I tend to do on occasion), but I wish that she could be *communicative*. C'est la vie...

Hmm, what am I doing...

I can't deny that, if I didn't know anyone in St. Louis, I wouldn't like every go there again. Again, this is no slight to the place, but, if I were going to be going for Midwest hot & humid, I'd choose Chicago every time. All that said, my Missouri-based friends (who'd been married a few months ago in Jamaica) had a couple of parties...

A long weekend approaches and, in 24 hours, I'll heading to the hot & humid middle of the country for my friends' wedding reception (they were married a few months ago in a small ceremony). Being away from the office for 5 days sounds good to me.

As you might recall, I threatened myself a few months back that, if I didn't get to a...

The roommate thing is working out quite well so far. As Kate is tremendously laid-back, I'm not surprised but, of course, I am pleased.

Very good! biggrin

Did your employer really charge you $100 for the bus pass? Ack!

Sometimes, I don't know why my luck is good. I'm glad, but I just don't know why. An editorial columnist for the Seattle Times found my bus pass and returned to HR and the security guy who took my new picture for my replacement ID didn't charge me for it. Thus, the expectation of $120 in costs became $0. I can easily deal with that....

wow, what a wonderful twist of fate.
that would never happen to me.
if it where me, some hobo would find it, use it to get on a bus, comandere it, then plow it into another bus full of school children or a retirement home, causing it to burst into a huge fireball, and incinerate everyone in close proximity.
right. pleasant thoughts.
yay summer. but actually, i moved here for the rain.

I misplaced my 12-month bus pass today. I feel pretty stupid about it as it will cost me $100 to replace what I was originally given free by my employer. Why do I do these things?

Yet, whenever I feel down, I like to remember this store from La Paz, Mexico
