today wasn't a bad day... i worked with people i actually like working with... and we talked about how we'd spend ~$75 million dollars ($222 million before taxes and split 50-50) if we were to win it on a shared lotto ticket...

i had the rather frugal approach... i'd pay off my debt, buy a decent ($250-500k) house on either coast, an apartment for me and an awesome friend (wink) in NYC (East Village?), a handful of cars imported from japan and europe, a house and some money for my mom, dad, and each of my siblings, a trust fund for my little cousin and a small business for my brother and i to run (performance car shop... working on everything from muscle cars and street rods to import rockets and trucks) and last but not least a donation to a worthy charity (i'm not sure which one, but probably one involving children).

i still would shop at Salvation Army and Goodwill... i wouldn't worry about showing off, private jets and trips to exotic locals... i don't and never will care about that stuff.

there are a handful of places i would travel eventually... but, nowhere i'm dying to go...

i just want to be out of debt and relax for a little while.

so my question to you: what would you do with $75 million dollars?

1st I'd pay of Adam's and my parents debt and mortgage. then, I'd but a really dope car.
then I'd but a flat in London, and loft in NCY, and a villa in Italy.
then, of course, I'd have to buy a little jet so I could get to all of my houses.
then I'd have to sit around and think about what to do with the rest.... biggrin

How funny - I've been thinking about the same exact thing (I bought tix for the mega millions - didn't win.) I think what I would do is: 1) Buy the condo for sale on my block ($7.95 million) pay off all loans and debts for everyone in my immediate and extended family (maybe $2-3 million.) Travel extensively. And then what I would really really like to do is set up some sort of foundation that helps out regular folks who are having troubles on an individual basis. You know, like single moms who can't really accomplish their career goals because they can't afford day care or to take time off - pay for them to go to school, etc. Or pick up homeless people and pay for them to clean themselves up, get an apartment for six months and get a job to get them back on their feet. I think that would be awesome. And I'd get myself a giant flat screen TV. smile
