Brief history of my musical past:
From the age of 6, I had classical piano lessons crammed down my throat. When I was 12, I told my parents I didn't want to do that anymore. "Fine", they said, and signed me up for saxophone lessons. At 14, I told them "I'm sick of music, I don't want to play it anymore" After that, they never forced me into it anymore.
When I had just turned 15, a friend of mine handed me a tape and told me to check it out. What I heard was this super intense, heavy, fast, incredibly high-energy music. One listen, and I decided that maybe I still wanted to play music after all. I mowed a lot of lawns and saved a lot of allowance money and bought my first bass to learn how to play like that shit I heard on that tape.
That tape was Cowboys From Hell by Pantera.
RIP Dimebag
