Merry Christmas everyone!
Last night was great with my family in from out of town all at my parents home. Pretty traditional as far as that was concerned. Today, my friend Michele and I delivered meals to people who are way too sick to leave their homes and to help themselves. The area we were in in Jersey City is not so great. Especially considering the fact that on most of the streets, you could go another few blocks and find 600,000 condos facing NYC.
I got a little bummed out, but I hope I was able to make a difference for someone at the very least. . .
If I rewound to the summer, I would have pictured myself opening gifts with the ex and doing the Hallmark holiday I'd always dreamed of. Things never turn out exactly as we planned, but I bet the people who we brought Christmas dinner to didn't plan to be in that situation either.
All in all it was a nice day and I'm happy we had the opportunity to help. I guess giving my time and consideration to those who don't have much was more appreciated then whatever else I might have once had in mind.
