Well alrighty then! The SGATL party on Saturday was fun--everybody was really cool; I was kind of expecting there to be at least one complete tool present. I probably got the most fucked-up of anybody there, hmm I guess that's OK since I can still remember everything and don't recall acting like any more of a jackass than usual.
While I'm at work today I will scan some Polaroids that I took and put them up in the group area.
Let's see, what do I have to do today? Make PCI=Phenol:Chloroform:Isoamyl alcohol. Wonderful. That produces toxic fumes. But when applied to a mixture plant cell contents, it will cause the nucleic acids I desire to "extract" from the rest of the solution--this is harvested as the top layer after centrifugation. Oh yeah baby. Maybe I'll get to use formaldehyde for my RNA gel too! Oh boy! Another stinky reagent, but this one's also carcinogenic as hell.
Am I bragging or complaining? I'm not sure.
Let's give some examples for comparison. Here is me bragging: I have played Trivial Pusrsuit many times with many people but have never been beaten.
OK, now here is me complaining: I am restless and uncontent most of the time.
Hmm those are weird choices but that's what I thought of.
But when I think about it, neither bragging nor complaining are personality traits that I wish to cultivate in myself, so perhaps this subject does not merit too much reflection. I guess they are OK--in moderation they are probably charismatic traits actually.

that's so funny!!! as i was reading that i could totally see you saying all of it... just sort of rambling on... i dunno- it fucking cracked me up... anyways.... teehee
what daniel13 fails to realize in his above comment is that i also use formaldehyde in my own job- we use it to put little dead animal parts in so we can send them to the lab (at UGA) or to the zoo (the herpetoligist is there)
or we put bunny testicles in them and i take them home
and i get to play with a centrifuge too - yay!! i think they're cool- we spin the blood in the to get serum counts and find the total solids in a sample...
