i'm dunno writing about the stupid shit known as my life.
deleting the lj in the next couple of weeks.
yet, i leave you with this:
maybe this is all based around the fact that i'm lacking my copy of paul thomas anderson's masterpiece magnolia. i hate letting people borrow dvds who aren't robin brown because:
-they never treat the dvds with the proper care & respect that they deserve; i handed my copy of magnolia over to the person and said, "this is one of my favorite films ever made," thus impling be very fucking careful with this; yet people rarely are. i have yet to watch zero effect since loaning it out cause one side was scratched up
-they never give them back or at least in a proper matter. i once loaned two dvds to a person in july of '03 and have yet to get them back, so i went and ahead and replaced them; it was stupid cause i went to hang out with the person, they kept on forgetting to bring the dvds. its just stupid
-my own paranoia. i always fear that they're going to break them or scratch them on purpose, like i had done something to offend or upset soon much that they would destroy something that, well lets face it, means more to me than probably the friendship that i have with the person unless its like a couple of people
where as when i allow robin to borrow my dvds, he borrows them for a while yet he has a reason why. he might be writing a paper or whatever, so he needs to watch it many times. its understandable. yet others, they don't have film school, they just don't want to go fucking blockbuster. but it doesn't make sense because i have no good movies or at least movies they'd want to watch. its either foregin, zombie, or depressing drama film.
and another thing that bugs me is that when they're browsing my collection is that they misplace a dvd. they're in a very specific & prescie order and for somebody to just up and move things around like its their collection, don't you fucking realize that deep red comes before suspria? are you mega retardo?
and another thing, people always guilt trip me into loaning shit out. they'll say something like, "if its okay" meaning me seem like a complete and utter asshole if i don't let them borrow or something. and its not like i regularily borrow anything from anybody. in fact, i never do. if i want something, its pretty much, i go out and get myself.
so thats why i don't let people borrow my dvds
