i went to watch city of god by myself tonight.

it was excellent.

i had seen the film before, almost like a year ago. around this time. the film is still a work of genius, yet it lacked that inital impact; that power for when you see something so raw.

it was an ideal experince. me, a row of budding film nerds/bros behind me, a couple of couples to the left and some people who walked out in front of me. nobody talked. it was quiet. it was like watching a film at home except i had my phone off and i didn't have a glass of water.
