You know what really makes me sick anymore?
People from Alabama that think they have to imitate or emulate people from other places in order to be cool. People that think they are better than the locals for dressing and acting in the fashion of major cities elsewhere.
They're lame because they are just as bad as the locals for following instead of being whoever they could possibly be.
I've travelled this country far and wide. There are few corners of it I have not seen. I've hit major cities all over these United States. I've lived in Japan and Canada. I've spent time in the UK. Most people that know me hardly realize this. It comes up in conversation sometimes but the only give-away that I'm not from around here is that I lack the heavy accent. One thing I've learned from all the places I've been is that people are just people. You can't escape where you're from, it doesn't mean shit about you, and you don't have to try to act like people elsewhere to be interesting or entertaining because people elsewhere are just as boring as your mom and dad and boss and coworkers. The large majority of people in the world are just regular folks. Jeans and t-shirts. Not cool, not entertaining, just people.
You're not fooling anyone. You're still from Bumfuck, Alabama. And stop trying to mask your accent because it just makes you sound like an idiot.
