yesterday i was at work and this dirty old alcoholic man came up to my register wanting to buy some beer. after i start ringing him up, he points to my labret piercing and procedes to berate me:
"i bet youve got em all in yer tounge and stuff. what the hell is that in your ear?"
"who the hell hired you?"
"why did they even let you in the door?"
"they mustve been really hard-up for people!"
"whats the world coming to?" he muttered that last one about 50 times before i slammed his change on the counter and told him to leave, then gave him the finger. (ok, yeah, i admit i waited till he turned around, i cant afford to get fired, but dammit i did it! and fiercely at that.) i hate assholes. i dont think ive gotten that pissed off at work in a looooong time. but i cheered up like 10 minutes later because some cute girl came in and told me she loved my haircut.

Two days ago I watched a Minke whale breech 7 times about 30 meters away from the sea bird colony I was working with, it just doesnt get any better than that. Data collection on the ocean is like embracing the freedom of a fabulous dream, I dont get on the ocean near as much as I would like to. I shouldve gone marine bio instead of wildlife bio. Im currently approaching ecology with an emphasis in marine work.
