"The writing is on the wall.." or something similar. It was a misleading clue and led into the wrong alley, which in turn led to the wrong stretch of sewer pipes and I got washed into the lake. Fortunately floundering is something I do quite well and drowning was not on the menu for that particular day.

First day on the job... I guess it's official, although who really knows when the letterhead on the door to your office still reads "Sick Cat Hospital". Like it says on the card, and hopefully by now on the front door (I think the scruffy workman in overalls has finished repainting the lithograph),
