Wow I am nearing another birthday and will be 35 years old, hell that sounds old but I feel no different than I did when I was 25.

Funeral was on yesterday and it was heartbreaking but I was happy I could be there for my friend .
it was on of those huge funerals that happen when the person is still in there prime of life.
the saddest thing was seeing my friends mothers parents.

Saw your post on SGAU. I'm so sorry to hear about this.

The exact same thing happened to a friend of mine six months ago. I wish I was closer to her now, so that I could help you more.

As far as I could see, she was honestly too shocked and depressed for anything at all to penetrate her world. My advice? Listen to her, really listen, and watch, and find out what she needs. If she cries, hug her tight. If she ignores you, go make a tea for a bit and give her space for a moment. Make jokes if you can, distraction is always helpful.

The only thing that can ever help her ... is time. And as time goes on, she'll keep on letting you know, in subtle ways, what she needs from you.

Stay positive.
