yesterday was a productive day.
got the grass cut and the rest of the garden tilled.
We made the 16 yr old help out while I was seasoning the ribs to BBQ on the grill... he did not complain
BUT while I wasn't watching, he took out my butterfly bush and bee balm with the weedeater frown
then, we had to run to the garden center and left him in charge of the ribs... he let them burn eeek
we should have known it'd be a disaster when he didn't complain about helping out...

I planted 18 cabbage, 18 peppers, 4 zucchini, and 12 cucumber plants.
today I have to finish the broccoli and hot peppers, cause I ran out of plastic for the rows yesterday.
then i have to get the sage and oregano under control, plant my rosemary and finish up my herb garden.
This all should have been done already but we've had nothin but rain on our days off for the past 2 weeks frown

gotta re-mulch some of the flower beds and then I can just sit back and watch it all grow love

my oldest son turns 19 tomorrow, damn i feel old. I know I'm not that old, since I got such an early start and all... but I think it's really weird to say that your child is 19 yrs. old, no matter how old you are.

How dare they reject such a set!

On the gardening front, our garden this year is unusually robust. My 17 year old son works at a garden center...he's been bringing home free and discounted stuff all Spring- free stuff being slightly damaged plants or bags of mulch etc. that they were throwing away...its sweet deal...plus he does all the work! Mostly flowers. A new redbud tree is the nicest score.

We have veggies including tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash and assorted peppers. Not a lot of room in the veggie patch. frown Need to replant the lettuce and spinach- first crop bolted and I already pulled it.

And just remember, it ain't the years, its the miles and the maintenance plan. ARRR!!! ARRR!!! biggrin
