We got some hail here a couple of Sundays back - quite an amazing occurance on a warm Spring day! The acidic rain around here is damaging many evergreen trees and shrubs. The poison ivy loves it though - it's thriving. There was so much of it over where I used to live in Connecticut that my friends and I began to refer to it as the state flower.

I haven't been online for a couple of days - I missed viewing and commenting on your last couple of blogs. First of all, thanks for the pictures of the Daylilies!! They look beautiful and bring back so many memories... mostly good

Feels good to get traction on all the myriad of projects I wanted to get done around the farmhouse. After I get this place all beautiful, I may be forced to entertain, or just do some serious poarch-sitting.

Hurray for daylilies! One of the former loves of my life (and one of the biggest train-wrecks) was a daylily fanatic. I still miss those beautiful blooms. There are several wonderful gardens and two growers that I am aware of right around here.

Ah, Walmart. I have problems and issues with the corporation as well, but the local store carries much that I need at very competitive prices and they're (almost) always open. I give up. They win. Fascinating fauna flocks to my local store as well.

I got a turtle out of the road last week, but that rescue shared very little (actually none) none of the danger, drama, excitement and bloodshed of yours.

Well, still no owls, but I saved another turtle today. She was right in the middle of a rather busy road. The one the other day was a Painted Turtle. This one was a Bog Turtle. They are considered endangered in this state and threatened nationwide. We have several habitats in which they are found around this area.
Somebody down the road from here put up a "turtle crossing" sign - I'll try get a picture of it next time I'm over that way and post it in a future blog - it's pretty cool - I just hope that it works.
