I voted today. I didn't think I would be able to because my registered information has me still living at BKN, but I went to the polling place where I was registered anyway. I asked the election official there (a cheery guy in his mid-60's from the look of him) and told him that I didn't live where my registration said I did and he said as long as my name was in their book and I still lived in Bloomington that it didn't matter. I originally wasn't going to vote, but after all the harassment I got from the Indiana Republicans and Democrats, I figured I'd show up and stick it to them. I would have voted for the Libertarian guy running against Sodrel and Hill, but he's a douche too, so I wrote in Penn Jillette's name. I voted Libertarian wherever else I could (like 2 other places) and then Democrat when I didn't have a Libertarian option for the smaller elected positions.

The Fire Station on 3rd where I voted was using an electronic voting machine, but it was an older one. Not a Diebold and not a touch screen, it looked like a big calculator, it had a big screen and had little buttons on the sides of it and you just pressed the button next to the candidate's name you wanted to vote for and an X would show up in the box next to their name. For write in's you'd press the write in button and then letters would appear next to the other buttons and you'd type in the person's name. Easy peasy. When you were all done, this big red button would light up and you'd press it to finalize your vote. I also took my friend, Mary-Beth Liz's advice shook my jugs a little when finalizing my vote, much to the bewilderment of the voting officials there.

It was rad.

I also used voting as an excuse to not be called in early for work today. Otherwise, I'd already be working. wink
