A good morning: walking in and before you even get off the elevator, getting handed your paycheck. Nice. Especially now when I'm broke. (I have no idea where my money went. I've been really good at not going broke the last couple months, too!)

I'm excited for my [possible] move to the new building. I'm sure it'll be difficult at first, as everyone figures out...

Ember and I made so much freaking food. I don't know what we were thinking. We have so many leftovers. We'll be eating Thanksgiving dinner over and over again for the next week.

You guys should bring me some food!!! I miss you both!

Rendering HD stuff takes so freakin' long.

While I lack the scientific data to back up this claim, I'm pretty sure everything takes 1.52x longer when you're on a tight deadline (ie: the last FedEx pickup of the day).

Actually, that number may be too conservative.

Comparison of SD vs. HD render times:
I have some graphic elements that are rendering now. Visually, the look...

wow, I haven't really read your blog in a while.

It's filled with nerd stuff so I got bored and stopped.

Today's fortune cookie (sweet and sour chicken, ftw!) was an actual fortune! I'm amazed, shocked, and other action words!

Good news will be brought to you by mail.

By mail, eh? Well, which form of mail? My apartment's mailbox? Email? Or, with Leopard, my RSS feeds come in through Mail (though I find myself going back to Safari's RSS reader from time to time), so...

Since some time yesterday my throat has been dry and scratchy. Today it's just brutally sore. I hope it stops soon.

Luckily it's a bit of a slow day today at work. There's a chance everything I was supposed to do today will come back when I'm in the middle of another project. And then there's a chance I'll have to work Saturday of next...

I installed Leopard Saturday. Overall: Very nice.

The Finder: I haven't figured out folder views yet, they seem to change depending on whatever I set my last folder to... which I guess makes sense in theory but is a bit weird.

The Dock: I used to have folders with custom icons in the Dock (specifically my Ginker and AOYE website folders). Those custom icons are...

I pre-ordered Mac OS X 10.5 from Amazon (through a referral link from Daring Fireball), but Amazon's super free saver shipping whatever pushed my ship date to almost two weeks after the release date. So I cancelled my order Thursday night and ordered from the Apple online store. The educational price difference was only a few bucks more, and would ship out for free...

Finally some good news on the iPhone front.

Last night I was dicking around with toc2rta.com's TIFF exploit and iNdependence and tried to downgrade to 1.0.2 to no avail. Then this morning I tried playing music on the bus and it said I had no songs. Yes, very sad.

Then at work I tried downgrading with iNdependence again and I guess the Sun and the...

Sadly, Smash Bros is February. I think the real reason it was pushed was not due to adding more characters, but just Mario Galaxies was being overshadowed by it.

The Wii Zapper with the Crossbow Training looks neato.

For some reason, possibly that I'm technologically impaired, at least when it comes to tinkering with the insides of a device like the iPhone, I can't bring myself around to doing the 1.1.1 update bit. Now if someone here had the experience doing it I would take the thing tomorrow right after picking it up to them, but for some reason i don't want to damage my moste expensive toy. blush

My iPhone woes are starting now.

My iPhone shipped with firmware 1.0.2, the last perfectly hackable version. I used iFuntastic to "jailbreak" it (jailbreak means to allow read/write to the filesystem so you can install custom applications) and never had a serious problem, aside from the random (non-Apple) app freezing up which just needs a restart and everything works again.

I installed a bunch of...
