X-Men Disassembled

Marvel's next big crossover event....as if having four major crossovers in the span of less than two years wasn't enough. >frown
For those of you who don't know...the fat cats over at Marvel decided to do a bit of "House Cleaning" with the X-Titles. ALL X-Titles. This means the teams are being broken down, some characters retired, some new characters introduced, some books cancelled, some new ones started...an entire X-Men makeover.

*sigh*

This all begins to unfold now with Messiah Complex and the big changes will all be permanently set in February. Note to self: mark February as good month to crawl into hole and die

You can find out more at these links:

What I am REALLY not happy with is this quote:

After "Messiah CompleX," the X-titles - both the remaining and the newly launched ones - will tie together in a way that makes things much easier for fans. "They are all required reading, but each one will be independent, as well," Lowe explained.

"Required reading"?? I'm sorry....but when did I decide to repeat the 5th grade??

Basically, what they are saying is that if you aren't buying every X-Title now...you sure as hell will be by February. Blde Marvel. They are so friggin greedy they have let almost all their series go to Scheie.
I admit that there are some changes that need to be made. After the most recent issues of X-Men, it is pretty obvious they need to get a new team together since half of them are dead or joined the Marauders....and you can't have a team of just Iceman and Rogue (who is crazy now and just utters nonsense half the time anyway).

Sooo maybe this Disassembled business will be an improvement...maybe not. Ich wei nicht.
Only time will tell.

In other geeky news:

Only 14 more days until Halo 3!!!!!!!!

I haven't read Marvel for a very long time. I borrowed some House of M, Planet Hulk, and WWH and wasn't impressed by very much of it. The big companies are putting out so few good comics it's amazing they're still the big companies.

I did kinda figure i'd be Beast, and i'm comfortable with that. Iceman and Jean Grey make good second place characters too. Gambit and Rogue tied for fourth place makes me feel a little naughty inside.

You scored as a Beast
Beast is an intelligent, politcal spokesman for the X-Men. He has a Ph.D in Genetics and is well versed in literature. He may look like a blue fuzzy monster, but deep down he's very benevolent and logical. Powers: Enhanced strength and agility

I scored as a Rogue
Rogue is a strong but tragic personality. She loves Gambit. Because of her mutant powers, she cannot touch anyone without hurting them. Therefore, she longs for human contact. However, this southern gal's strong personality has allowed her to deal with this. Powers: Absorbs lifeforce and powers by touch, Super strength, and flight
