I've got some rats available for adoption.
I have decided to not outcross my lines anymore, so I am trying to find homes for some of my females that come from other breeders' lines. I have six wonderful females that are about 8 months old. They come from the SMR line and the LGP line. They are all healthy and friendly but they are pet quality -not- breeding quality. Since they are full grown rats, I would be willing to give them away for free to a good home.
Here is what they look like:
I also have one rescue rat that needs a home. Her name is PeachyPie....and she is evil.
*sigh* This is a good example of why you should never buy from a pet store breeder. She has a terrible temperament, she is skittish and difficult to hold. I don't have the heart to have her put down and I just don't have room for her here. I would prefer to give her to an EXPERIENCED rat owner. Don't expect to be able to tame her...but she -is- cute and would be nice to have if you would just like a rat that you can watch....as she is very energetic.
This is PeachyPie:
If you are interested in a baby rat, now would be the time to get on the waiting list for my next litter. I will be breeding my Champion SMR Nigel to a female in his line. The result will be a litter of dumbo, black variegated that carry the rex gene. They will most likely look like Nigel:
If you would like to get on the list...e-mail me and let me know. It is first come, first pick. So the sooner you contact me, the more rats you have to chose from.
I am located in the Philadelphia area but travel to New York city frequently. I usually try to find a mutually familiar area to meet up with people.
If you are interested in adopting one of the girls from above, or getting on the wait list for my next litter, OR both...please e-mail me at:

HA! and you thought YOU were lonely??!?! :p
Seriously though, I've been reading you posts when I can and your rat breeding is fabulous. I don't know why hamsters are so damned popular, when a rat is twice as smart and twice as tame. I worked in the pet industry for years and shuddered every time another 6 yr old came in to pick out one of those satanic little dwarf hammies, knowing full well it would just gnaw on the child. <sigh> I guess I have to move out of crappy Alberta if I ever want one though!!
