I leave for San Diego in a week. (To those of you who visit me at work: I thought we were leaving this Tuesday....someone gave me the wrong dates and no one bothered to correct me. I am actually leaving -next- Tuesday on the 18th. So I WILL be at work Thursday and Friday this week.)
Regardless of the mis-communication...
I don't feel ready.
The time crept up so fast. I haven't even packed yet.
I've had so little time the past few weeks to do anything. And a lot of my time and energy had to go towards getting ready for the wedding I went to on Friday. My friends Mark and Melissa got married...err.....finally. I've known them for years and never knew them as anything but a couple.
They had a gothic themed wedding....not my cup of tea...but Lissa liked it and she really looked pretty.
Now as if weddings aren't stressful enough, Melissa had invited that show "Whose wedding is it anyway?" from the Style Network to film. Erg. Let me just say for the record, that I KNEW that was a bad idea. Not only would they try to stir up needless drama....and they did.....BUT when the show does air on TV they are going to try to show the wedding in a humorous or shocking way. I watch the show frequently, they make all the women seem like "brides from hell" so I can't imagine what they are going to say about my friend in her black wedding dress!
I'm just pissed because a lot of the drama they stirred up was around ME. There was a small -private- conversation between Melissa and me about how I found the bridesmaids dresses uncomfortable and wanted to change if I was going to dance. She didn't want me to, I said OK, case closed.
Then this very abrasive girl kept bringing it up again at a club we were all hanging out at before the wedding. I told her that it was discussed and she kept going on and on about it.....erg....so that started a bit of drama.
Well, SOMEHOW the crew from this TV show caught on to this and actually PUT ME IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA and the fake wedding planner starts harping on me about how it is very important that I stay in my dress. So there is a good chance that the half the show will be about how I'm a terrible bridesmaid because I didn't want to wear my dress.
I won't know until the show airs. It might be okay. They may not show any of that footage. Or they might totally embarrass me in front of the entire country and make me look like a bad person.
In any case....future brides....do NOT invite "Whose Wedding is it Anyway?" to film at your wedding. It is tacky and they are assholes that just want to create problems and make everyone hate each other.
Ah well.....hopefully San Diego will go well and I can forget all of that other stuff. It is weird because I am not even excited for San Diego yet. I am leaving in a week and I just feel incredibly stressed out. I have a lot of stuff happening in such a short amount of time. Right after I get back from San Diego I will be rushing to get things done for Pennsic. After Pennsic, I'll be rushing to get things done for London.
By that time, I will probably suffer from head explodey and then I'll stress no more!
If anyone is going to the San Diego Comic Convention....come and say hi!!! I will be working there the entire time...and trust me, you won't be able to miss me. I'll have purple dreads and a tight spandex and leather outfit on.

much love and sweet wishes.
I hope that your trip to San Deigo and the convention goes well. There isn't much stuff like that where I am, but I'd love to go to such a thing someday! A friend of mine just got back from a big makeup convention thing in California I believe. She seems to have had a good time. Got herself and airbrusher and nabbed some kryolan colours for me
Cheers!
