and so it ends. (the semester, that is - the basic unit of time for a college student)

i don't have time to wax lyrical, but i think I've changed lately, and i think I'm going to change more soon. Not huge amounts of change, but important changes. I'm getting settled into this life thing.

it's the little changes in life that tend to have the biggest effects on us. good luck with getting settled into the life thing. wink

my fellow revolutionary is coming back out to the country this weekend, and promises that there'll be more fun with her and her camera. i can't wait smile

for now, i've got mucho reading to do for classes. other than the rapid shortening of days, life is good.

yo. the first installment of the REVOLUTIONARIES photoset is up. featuring Morgan and her ass, Rachel and her hair, Alex's Hot Car, some clothing inspired by a plush Che Guevara doll (not shown here) a Montecristo and a Djarum. Enjoy, and do leave your comments!
nescafe:
*raaR* Revolucionarias are molto sexy.

I wish I had a plush Che doll...

somehow I think poor Ernesto would turn in his grave if he knew he'd been made into a plush doll. (well... the parts of him that aren't locked up in the pentagon anyway)

If I had a Che doll I'd have to purchase a replica of Che's old motorcycle and stick the doll to the front of the bike and ride around like some kind of cuddly symbol of motorized terror.

where do you know flux from? are you one of the infamous TIP kids? and teaching is awesome, i'm thinking of doing that, but college not high school. and history not science smile

found my will to live again on friday night, when i remembered what it's like to be happy and recalled that my purpose in life is to make myself (and others, when convenient) happy, and shut up the nagging existentialist in me by dousing it with polish honey liquor and marijuana. works like a charm.

my newly turquoise hair and Morgan's acquisition of Montecristos merited...

Anyone who is a friend of the one to whom, while communicating on this site, we shall refer only as Flux (or variations of, such as Flux0r, Flux-like-one, etc.) is a friend of mine.

(except Carl, and people who abhor long often confusing run on sentances not unlike the ones I am wont to employ) biggrin

the new look is an improvement.

my health continues to suck - it's not strep, but some other nasty virus has kept me down for the last five days and threatens to ruin my fall break plans. but i finished the academically stressful part of the week, so now i can relax and sleep and deal with minutiae.

more later. i'm getting a backrub smile

for poetry day, an original from the aftermath of a wild saturday night last month:

Sunday Morning

Is this what it feels like to be alive?
Rugburns and slow-moving eyes
that watch time pass with suspicion and surprise.
I remember life having a different taste
and toothpaste won't hasten my return
to: passing time with questions that burn
in my mind, placed there by...

Flux is so cute! her new set added happiness to my day.

In other news, I'm totally into classes this week (two exams, a paper, and the class i'm TAing has an exam so i've been spending extra time helping them study.) Classes make me happy.

I got out any remaining angst against my geology professor yesterday when i was boffing with peter and alex....

and now, for some whine (and not well-aged stuff either either - no, this one's bitter).

most recent excitement in the aftermath of the flood - my temporary housing is in a dorm with no quiet hours and last night was senior class bar night, so even as exhausted as i was from moving yesterday and general stress, i slept only intermittently from 11:30-3:30 with...

hi. my name is rachel. i am a huge ball of stress.

the most dramatic of the several stressful events of my last few days was the flood. three inches of rain fell yesterday in less than an hour. i lived at the bottom of a hill, on the top of which is a huge construction site. when debris blcoked the drains, muddy, smelly, (and...
