Enjoying: My first manicure. Ever.
I've had a very busy week and I type all day every day and I get really tight, sore hands.My treat to myself (and at least temporary solution to the pain) was to get a hand massage.
But that's kinda hard to organise. Most masseurs (sp?) don't do "just my hands, please." I know - I called around. Four of the gazillion masseurs that advertise in my local paper were stumped by my request. And treated it as kinda ... suss.
This sems odd to me. I mean, it's not like all "massage therapists" are health professionals. A lot of them do some shading-into-sexwork style stuff. Rub and tug? No worries. Roll over for a happy ending? Sure. Get these damn knots outta my palms? Erm, no ... not ... THAT.
In the end I cottoned on to a manicure. Now I'm not much of one for growing my nails (they just get in the way too much and I can't keep 'em clean 'cos dirt likes me). But I went for a delux French manicure. Spurge.
I'm ready now to marry PiPi who did it. I mean, my hands feel great - soft, clean and she has incredibly strong hands and worked out all my ouchies for about 30mins. Plus I have these still-functionally-short but glossy and slightly pink nails with white tips. Neat. Sure, I wouldn't do it everyday and I know it won't last long but if I had the money I can see how this would become addictive.
Note (just in case a comment above came across wrong): I have nothing but respect for sex-workers. It's a tough industry and hard work.
