What a night! Yowza! I was so down doobie down in the dumps when Lori informed me that Dizzy's was an all-ages venue. I swear, SoCal is really great, but much like Tropicana Twister the separation of rock and booze is a flavor nature never intended. I just really wanted a scotch. There were a few bumps in the road at work and that would have done just nicely. But, we get there and "ALL AGES." I mean, "ALL AGES" is almost as bad as "NO PETS" with regards to buzzkill.
But the first act Mishka and the Ruby Warblers was pretty cool. A gypsy folk kinda thing. Reminds me of CJ in maybe 15 years.
Act Two was Gwendolyn, who is a singer from L.A. who is backed by a rockin' combo. Gwendolyn soothed my broken soul. Pots, pans, saws, jawharp, glass harmonica, upright bass.
Oh damn look at the time. Gotta dip.
