Today is a good day, as I am working on music for my solo project called The Spiral Sequence. I also play in another band called Sun Like Blood, but there's not a great deal happening at the moment due to other commitments interfering with the availability of the guitarist and drummer, so I am concentrating on writing my own material and recording it all here at home in the new version of Logic Studio, which kicks some serious arse.
Bass is my primary instrument, I have been playing bass for 16 years, but for The Spiral Sequence I am doing everything - writing the music and lyrics, playing bass, playing guitar, singing and programming drums and other assorted sounds and recording and mixing it all myself as well. It is a daunting prospect at times but I am really enjoying the challenge. I need to be learning new things and using new skills to keep my mind active and this certainly fits the bill.

On another note our ducted heating isn't working right now and has been out for three days and it is fucking freezing in the house. Amazing what we take for granted until it isn't there...
