hmm...highlights for the week:
Wed. Gave my talk on how to beat computer chess. It went pretty well. Biggest attendance yet for a lecture I've given somewhere around 60 maybe. Later I went to Piece and Ten56. Ten56 serves some seriously mean long islands. Served in a pint, nearly clear and just a little ice.
Fri. Went to kit-kat and smart bar with the lovely LadyK. The divas were impressive. Kit-kat closed up before we paid so we scored a good amount of free booze.
Sat. Saw everybody and their mom at the CD exchange. I have a serious stack of listening material now. I'm looking forward to it. By and large I don't know most of the bands that people listen to, so it should be quite educational.
To look forward to: This Friday is the math dept beer skits. A bbq and a couple hours of sketch comedy devoted to making fun of the faculty. Plenty of booze to be served (that's what two of those kegs are earmarked for). Been picking up props and costumes for it over the last few days. The university doesn't know it yet but they are now the proud owners of a bong and an 18" cock. I'm sure I can figure out ways to work them in.
I've got a bunch of lines to memorize. We haven't even gone through any of the skits fully yet. Should be entertaining to see how it comes out.
