I am getting too old for this shit!! we had one of our annual physical tests today. The combat fitness test (CFT), it involves an eight mile forced march carrying weapon and 16Kg. Doesn't sound like a lot does it? Like a tit I put too much weight in my Bergen (rucksack), and said it would be fine when given the opportunity to remove some of the excess. When I was a young lad I would have run around something like that like a young Springer Spaniel. Today was indeed a test. I only have myself to blame. It's done now, but boy do I ache.
I am thinking about heading downstairs to the bar and drowning my sorrows. It is the weekend after all, but I have an essay to complete for Uni by tuesday. Should I go for a drink and do the essay tomorrow? Should I do what my 19 year old daughter is doing at Uni? put off till tomorrow what you should be doing today!
