Hello so how is everyone?
I'm back after an extended break. Back in the UK too which is good. Finding myself having a social life again which has been novel after 2 years of monastic celebacy.......not self induced I might add.
So, what have you all been up to? Do tell, I'd hate to think anyone has had a worse time?
Be cool. Speak soon......and...

Right Kids, last blog before I head to Iraq.
For all you that will enjoy the festivals, drink sensibly, wear ear protection, and take your rubbish home.
For those of you who will have to work all summer long to save money for going back to Uni, work hard, save hard, and resist the temptation to blow it all on a holiday or something fivilous....

Hello peeps,
Wow, feels like months since I was on here last. How is everyone?
I am now able to inform you that I am due to go to Iraq (not Afghanistan as previously advertised) the first week of May.
The run up to that is very busy and will mean more time away from the internet and socialising.....awww!
I will be able to talk...

Another week over. We seem to be cramming an awful lot of shit into not a lot of time. I'm sure those Officers in charge think we are living in some sort of TARDIS. I have news for them, it's more like a RE-TARDIS!! not only that but in this version the Doctor isn't a Time Lord he is more of an alcoholic, incoherent, gibbering...

Glad it seems nothing has changed drastically since I've been away. Re- tardis, eh? I like that.

Give me a bell if you are still about this week, Graeme McBride is around too, and I think Greig Culbert is home. I'm off Thursday and Friday, so if you are free, lets drink!

The bed is here if you want it. biggrin

I am getting too old for this shit!! we had one of our annual physical tests today. The combat fitness test (CFT), it involves an eight mile forced march carrying weapon and 16Kg. Doesn't sound like a lot does it? Like a tit I put too much weight in my Bergen (rucksack), and said it would be fine when given the opportunity to remove some...

The fatigue would inevitably make you fall asleep at your desk, going for a drink will help you relax enough that you'll sleep super well today and tomorrow you'll do better writing stuff up. Logic is your friend.

People wasssuupp??
I'm sorry didn't mean to drop off the radar like that. I was on course and although there was internet access the nanny-net settings were so tight I couldn't look up Crayola without the FBI crashing through the skylight.
So now I am back in Germany. Glasgow was a blast, can't remember the last time I drank through the night. Thanks to the...

Hey you! Welcome back!! It's good to see you biggrin

Awwww, my little brother is in Germany; he's only 17 and got posted out there in January. Joined the army when he was 16 and went to the Foundation College in Harrogate for a year or so. I worry about him soooooo much although I'm assured Germany is good? Still, it gets worse for him when he turns 18 in June; 5 months in Afghanistan frown

Anyway, glad you're safe and able to surf for porn again biggrin

The weather is reeking!
I want the sun streaking,
to warm my face,
a strong lovers embrace.
Like mothers and others
who love me.
Instead of this hell
of grey and dismal, dank, damp days.
When will the clouds part?
When will it start,
the heady, lengthy
intoxicating summer?

Sorry, think I might have SAD. The only option really when the weather is pishy is...

I live in Gosport darling and I'm assuming as a man of the military you will know the calibre of most of its inhabitants.

Yes, they are fucking scum, and I can't wait to be able to afford to get out of here for good!

Today I'm ok thank you, just coming to terms with a few things smile

Enjoy Glasgee!!

I love rumours, I'm sure that half of what happens in the world started as a rumour and someone has heard it and gone....'Actually that sounds like a good idea!'.
I have been told by half a dozen people I'm the next B Squadron Sergeant Major......'Nice', I'm thinking, but how do they know and no one has officially told me anything?
Honestly soldiers are worse...

Hello Sweetie, sorry it's taken me so long to reply; I've been a bit shit at keeping up with all my SG friends lately.

Thank you for your kind words of support; it's not easy but I can already see that time does heal so at least now I have a little bit of hope for the future. I've actually watched a few funny DVD's today, which I've been unable to do until now so things are definitely looking up.

Oooooo, I know about the whole military gossip bollocks; was brought up in my teens on a naval estate during the gulf war and beyond. Still live in a very military area, and I drive a cab on occasion. You can imagine the high levels of shit I'm told on an almost daily basis! Oh, plus cabbies are also worse than fish-wives!

I hope you get the promotion darling; you deserve it.

Incidentally, my lil bro joined the Army in August 2006 aged 16 - went to AFC in Harrogate for a while, then up to Catterick, and he's just moved out to Paderborn last week. They're just waiting for him to turn 18 in June so they can ship him out to Afghanistan. He's just a baby; it breaks my heart. Dunno why I told you that; it's not like you're gonna know him but still! whatever

xx
doomy:
So? Was it true? Do you have your promotion? I was only half joking about Sandhurst, it's not unheard of, people moving up through the ranks if they display extraordinary leadership capabilities! Maybe you wouldn't feel comfortable there though between all the public school boys!
