Ready for the playoffs? My friends from Chicago are going nuts about the Blackhawks. I'll be rooting.

Your passion for the Devils and hockey in general is very obvious. It reminds me of my love for hockey way back when there were only six teams in the NHL. My time for sports is here. Spring training and unbridled optimism for my White Sox this coming season is upon me.

As I write this, the Devils are ahead 3-1 halfway into the 3rd period. The Hawks have been playing badly lately, so this is no surprise.

Congrats to Brodeur should the Devils hold on and he sets the all time wins record tonight. He's one of the all-time greats, maybe the best ever.

Sounds like it will be a great trip. Seeing people you haven't seen in years can be unpredictable. I looked up someone I was close with growing up after not being in touch for over 15 years. He was nothing like I remembered him, and I mean that in a bad way. I hope it will e a more pleasant experience for you than it was for me.

I can easily top you with the showing one's age thing. When I was growing up the only phones people had were black rotary ones.

I'm not into heavy metal, but you're not the first person on here who's sung the praises of The Sword. Perhaps I'll check them out.

Looks like it's safe for me to start following hockey seriously again after many years of apathy. My Blackhawks look like they may be going somewhere. Unfortunately, they've shown no ability to beat the Redwings.

Good to see that someone's in a good mood.

I hate flying. It's not so much the flying itself, it's the security check, the boarding, the taxiing, the fact that they list the flight time for two and a half hours when the actual time in the air is about one hour and forty five minutes, etc.

Thanks for the encouragement. Belonging to a site like this or blogging was something totally off my radar screen around the beginning of the year. I only heard about SG through a friend who happens to be an SG Hopeful. She joined SG and posted her first set around the beginning of February. She is the person who shares my profile pic. She urged me to join SG, which I'm grateful for. Our relationship has taken lots of twists and turns over time. It's much too complicated to try to explain here.

SG has been a totally new and satisfying experience for me. I've made some great friends here and have been gratified by the emotional support that I've given and received here.

The Devils have a winning tradition. I think they'll turn things around soon.

It looks like the Devils are turning it around. I told you they would. My Blackhawks are looking better than they have in years. They need to win more of their overtime games though. They don't do very well in shootouts for some reason.

Why thank you. Today is an important day and I have two marines in my life that served in Vietnam so I've always had a great deal of compassion and understanding for what they went through. The trauma lingers to this day and I've always wished there was some magic solution to heal their broken hearts.

Too bad Brodeur got hurt. The injury might be more than the Devils can overcome.
