I just read this and it brought me such delight. I figured I had to share it. 
"By the time I reached my mid-twenties, I was thoroughly conditioned by masculine spirituality to believe that the feminine body is more than anything an inconvenient obstacle, and I didnt want to use my energy on these earthly matters. I was seeking a transcended state of enlightenment. One day the Mother God and Father God and all their little angels kicked me out of the trance of seeking, but the awakening did not catapult me out of here as I had assumed. Film hasn't showed up on our screens here (Germany) yet. Still waiting for The Master as well. I'm way behind on current movies anyway, still need to see Life of Pi and Les Mis - have you seen those? I did pretty well on my Oscar predictions...sometimes it helps NOT having seen the movies ^__^

Well, Tuscany's a lot closer to me than it is to you, so don't be jealous! If we're still friends then, give me an addy and you'll at least get a postcard, how's that? Thanks for the reviews, I really think I need to see both. I'm a huge musical fan, but not so much of the newer ones (from Webber onwards) and I have never seen Les Mis on stage, so I'm not expecting to be blown away by the vocal abilities of the actors.
