I think we all do at times. The problem that we face is that we rarely have anyone around us that cares enough and feels confident enough in their relationship with us to do it.
And sometimes we just need a person to ask the right question. Instead of saying, "Oh that's horrible" or "I'm sorry to hear that", they need to be asking us "So, what are you going to do about it?".

However, if you're truly driven to create and explore, then I am not sure that you can ever be satisfied. There is something within people like us that just keeps pushing us, and keeps making us re-examine the things that other people take for granted. One could argue than it has something to do with Platonism, and seeking forms and ideals then will never, ever truly be realised, even if we knew they are there. *shrugs*
To be honest I almost envy the normal people. It must be great to just to be a sheep and wallow in mediocrity without being kept all night worrying about the nature of human existence.
