Man... The novelty of this site sure did wear off. Everyone is so self-absorbed, and the only people who aren't use the internet as a substitute for a social-life.

Don't get me wrong, I don't fucking blame you. You gotta come first for yourself. But fuck... The petty competition for internet-celebrity-stardom is WAY easier to achieve on Facebook. Hahaha!

Speaking of which - I find Facebook way the fuck more personal. It seems people there write "Notes" more than people "Blog" here. And the best part is, it's easier to sift through all the bullshit you don't fucking care about. I'd like to make your less-fictitious internet acquaintance. We should be Facebook friends.

And I hate to generalize, but this site is just too much work and the "community" here just ain't fucking worth it. No, I ain't fucking leaving. I'm just gonna be super less-active. I still SUPER love tattoos and tits and snatch and rump and pretty-girly-faces (anyone who says otherwise, male or female, is a fucking liar)... So I'll stick around but damn...

I dig the new member-decided-esque front-page and set-acceptance deal. That's the way it always should have been.

Hahahaha! Look how surly and self-righteous I look! Woot! Hahaha! Holier-than-thou! HOLIER-THAN-THOU!

No one can use the internet to substitute a social life any more than you can use air to substitute a social life. As far as socializing is concerned, the internet is a tool used to transmit ideas from one person to the next, just as the air is used to transmit your ideas from you to someone else through sound waves. Some people do tend to see it different, saying that because the tools are different, the outcome will always be different. But whether if you ride on a motorcycle or drive in a car, you still get to the movies if that's where you're headed. You might use a twist of your right wrist on a motorcycle to give it throttle, where in a car you push down with your right foot, but even though the tools are different, the end result is the same so long as you understand how to use each of the tools. Regardless if the tools used are sound waves, facial gestures, text typed into a keyboard, or images posted in a blog comment, you still have a relationship with someone where you convey ideas and interact with one another.

Now, how much each person is willing to put into their relationships (be they platonic or romantic) is different for each relationship. No amount of understanding the tools used to interact will substitute for someone who just doesn't care.

The relationsihps that you build while you're conversing with people through SG, facebook, myspace, AIM, or any other online medium can be anywhere from "oh hey this person amuses me" to your closest friend and lover. Typically, just as with relationships that you build in person, the majority of them will just be acquaintances. Folks who, while they're not going to pull out a second mortgage on their house and send it to you so you can make your rent, still are interested in your well being and happiness.

Just remember, the measure of the strength of a friendship is the level of risk, understanding, and overall involvement that you've had with a person. Before placing too much expectation on a relationship, you gotta ask how much of each of those the relationship has endured.

But regardless, I miss you! biggrin
