Tired.
Woke up today to the sound of my boss's voice on the phone asking me to come into work. What's the best possible way to see me angry? Start messing with me when I'm half asleep and/or tired.
I signed on wanting a 40 hour week. I've been racking up 60 usually. Good for money, detrimental to my life outside work. I argued for a bit and she asked me to come in at a later time.
It's like walking into a cracked out sitcom everytime I go into this place. The owners daughter who works there (a crackhead) steals from the register. The owner has a blind spot a mile wide for her, and still lets her keep her job. Since I started working there three weeks ago, I've seen five employees come and go, one because she broke the boss's wrist, one because her boyfriend got nabbed for a parole violation and "had" to go help him out (how one accomplishes this by walking away from her source of income is beyond me), and one because he walked out of place in the middle of his shift to the liquor store next door and shotguned a bottle of vodka.
It's a bit of a change of pace for me to be the most well-adjusted one in the room.
Today ended well, though. We closed at 11, and just as I got home it started thundering and raining.
I got to do one of my favorite things...sit on a porch, and watch the storm.
I'll count today as a victory.
