It deconstructs the whole comic book mythos, and turns the medium on its ear, while being timely (and timeless) and topical. not to mention, it is cool as hell. also, scott mccloud books ('understanding comics' and 'reinventing comics') are great reads, which deal with not only comics, but visual storytelling in a fun and enlightening way.

my brother lives in Carlsbad, which I guess is pretty close to Sand Diego. I went out there once, CA has some really beautiful scenery, and the whether seems great.

that i think your work should make an appearance. I did a couple of shows on and off there for a couple o' years.
It's a group show, usually showing anywhere between 30-50 artists at the same time. And it's always a big event.

It was PUMPIN'!! Picture a bar totally packed with hundreds of sweaty, groovin' indivuals whose ribcages are vibrating in their very bodies because of the sub bass massiveness!
They handed out individually packed earplugs with the cover of Tobin's "Out from Out Where" on them. I framed them and stuck them on my kitchen wall. I have an interesting kitchen.
