I had taken Chan Marshall off as my "crush". I figured it was just silly, as are a few other items in the profile section. Actually, I cleared my "into" section one day because it made me feel like I had joined a dating service. My reaction to that feeling was to put "I hate everything", since most people dislike haters, that's what I wanted to be. The complete opposite of "check me baby, I'm the shizz!!" It's the same reason I dislike being in groups larger than 3 or 4... when everyone is trying to out shine the rest. It annoys the hell out of me. You learn a lot more about someone from their posts anyways, and it's easy to see when someone is being themselves or trying hard to shine. I usually try to keep my posts minimal, and that's true to myself. So is that little chimp up there in my profile. I think he fits me perfectly, as simple as I can get. he's just chillin' taking it all in.

I was wrong about the "crush". I saw Chan perform again last night, and I'm completely smitten all over again. She's wonderful. She has a voice that's something heaven only wishes it could have, but she doesn't flood you with it. She plays. She teases. She lets you know what's possible, but only under her terms. If you don't like her terms, she'll tell you to leave. It's her show, her party, and she'll do as she pleases, and if you accept, she'll rap a playful little spell around you that has you saying "Chan is my Crush".
