Saw a couple hardcore bands last night. I don't even know who they were, or what they were saying, but it was pretty damn good. I really didn't need to know what they were saying. It's the aggression that was good. Really hard. Really fast. Pure emotion. The words probably wouldn't have meant anything to me, and possibly would have ruined it for me. They opened up for TV ON The Radio. Now there's something different. You kinda do need to know the lyrics for these guys, which I didn't, but they had some pretty cool sounds. One song had a human beat box with soul/gospel vocals. This guy had a really good voice. It was backed by a twangy country guitar sound and then a higher pitched classical sounding guitar. That one had me feeling all giddy. Very nice. What would life be without music?

On the way home, I was pulled over for driving like an idiot. I wasn't drunk, but it was late and we had the whole freeway to ourselves so why not? For the first time in my life the cop was younger than me, and actually treated me respectfully. There's an advantage of getting older. I'm down with that.

I've decided that if I ever make a movie there's gonna be a guy with a lawn blower in every scene. If there's a restaurant scene, there'll be a guy in the back with his blower going. If you stop at a traffic light, there'll be a guy crossing with his blower going. Same thing for the bar scene and the presidential inauguration etc, etc. No one will notice except for one guy, and it just gets him like fingernails on a chalk board.
dizzy:
i like that concept for the lawn blower guy in the movie.
question, have you seen this, and what are your thoughts on participating? http://suicidegirls.com/groups/Artists/journals/37243/

I don't have any really feeling about it, other than it might enrich the community somewhat. On the same note, i don't care much, as if i believe it would be art on display for artists mostly. And i don't see the point at all. A few years back i did a show in Japan, i didn't get to go, i just shipped my work there. Turns out there was alot of interest, but i wouldn't budge on my price, because i didn't want to sell. I bring this up in that i think it relates. Do you believe that this would better the community, or would it just propel a few of us into the SG spotlight, which would mean almost nothing other than popularity for the most of us?
I have questions, and i see the possiblities, but i don't see this as being anything more than art for the artists. Which might not be so bad on the off hand, but can be a killing blow to ambition.

Teasing people with lawnblowers. Naughty. wink

I've been meaning to pick up some David Sedaris. He's actually on my list of books to read. Yes, I have a list. I'm ADD. If I didn't have a list, it would never happen. smile I'd liked The Fat Man in History by Peter Carey. It's on my books list.

Baja camping/surfing trips, hiking, sometimes bars, etc. and it scares me that I can be so comfortable without company. Who will be there to watch/warn me of my decline?
oh yeah! My biggest concern which I didn't mention, is losing my sanity. I'm also a loner. I don't know that any will notice my decline. Oh well. robot

K is my ex. Taeris here. We had an 8 year open relationship. It was quite something. He's my best friend.
