I just got some CD's. Three of them were replacements of CD's I had before that I sold when I decided I had too many CD's (and sold ALL 400 or more of them). The other one is Tegan and Sara - So Jealous. I am listening to that right now. I saw them in Nashville in 2002. The CD is quite good thus far. I hadn't thought of buying one of their CD's until after it was recommended on this site.

Yes, that is exactly what I was alluding to. I do believe the first two Clash albums are superior to London Calling.
Ok, I will take that back. Give 'em Enough Rope isn't a better album. But, I do enjoy it more. I stand by my saying their debut album is a better album than London Calling
I will explain myself.
The first album captures the raw intensity of the first generation of British punk bands. The production is lacking and it gives it an overall lo-fi sound. But, that is part of its charm. The songs on the album itself play out almost like a "best of" album would for any other band. The songwriting is top notch. There isn't a track I would skip. It's not as musically diverse as London Calling, though... which to me makes it seems more focused.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy London Calling. But, there are 5 songs I can think of off the top of my head I don't really care for. But, it definitely isnt the mess Sandinista is. That album is horrendous.
