Period pieces are nice. I like to read historical novels and movies from time to time myself. Not much going on here, unless you include trying to juggle my job with my friendship. A good friend of mine is suing my boss for unpaid wages and he wants me to testify against him... Not fun. I've told him that my friendship comes before my job, but he just laid this on me earlier tonight, so I'm not sure what to do. He may be able to win without my help, but my testimony would probably give him a big edge. Here's the kicker: I'm leaving for a week to go to my brother's wedding (as the best man) and won't be coming back until the day before their court date. If I'm subpoenaed as a witness, then I won't be showing up for work that day (right before Christmas)... You can see where this is going. Anyways, my boss may lose considerably ($10,000 for my friends backpay, hardship and other multiple fines for labor violations!) Tie that in with increased expenses of operation and mediocre holiday revenues and he may well just close up shop... Leaving me without a job. My boss is also the vindictive type, so who knows what he's capable of. I honestly fear a bit for my friend for confronting "the Yeti". I really don't know if I want to get on my boss' shit list and be another name on a list that he plans on crossing off one day. I know it sounds crazy, but then again he IS crazy. I don't know what to do. I supposed to meet my friend and his wife tomorrow after work (for other reasons), but he's going to want to know where I stand (even though he's already assured me that he won't blame me if I don't want to do it.) Still though, I'd hate to strain a good friendship when (to be honest) I have few... Sigh, I just don't know what I'm going to do.

Sorry, but you asked... I wish I could tell you my life were all peaches and cream, but life really isn't so forgiving, is it?

Bah, listen to me, I sound so dreary. I don't want to think about it, my brother's wedding is a week from today (as of midnight), I should be excited and happy. I hope you have a good weekend and are able to spend some quality time with some good friends (or family). I'm going to be busy working right up to when I have to run off to my Sister's house in Long Beach before flying out of LAX early the next morning. I should be packing, but instead, here I am, sharing my life with some broad. ...

I wouldn't have it any other way.
