File this under what the fuck was I thinking (its becoming a thick file). Going to Dubai in the middle of Ramadan was never going to work out according to plan. Normally, Dubai is my safety valve if I need to get out of India and all other options are exhausted. The last flight to Singapore is 9am, Bangkok 2pm, Colombo 4pm. So my only choice this time was a 730 to Dubai. Normally that works out just fine. Just not during Ramadan.
I pretty much knew what I was up against when I came out of the airport and there were no other cars on the road. Not very few none. Zero. There were a few other people in the hotel by a few I mean three 40-ish old men just like myself, sitting at the hotel bar watching the Olympics. Alone. Sprinting. Badminton. Whiskey. Long Jump. Beer. Shot put
SG is banned in the UAE. Illegal. Blocked by the government. There is a spot in the Airport where..well never mind..
Anyway, nothing tragic here -- just another lost Friday night. There is upside Ill see you all in Bangkok in 10 hours..
