A new government is, thankfully, around the corner, or the weekend as it happens. Hopefully, we will have a majority Conservative government that has representation from all the provinces and has the backbone to simply turn a blind eye to the BQ. Better still would be charging all the new BQ MPs with treason as they leave the chamber after being sworn in. I wonder...

y'know, RE: Andvari's journal, I don't think its possible to kick a single riding out of confederation. Certainly the federal government alone couldn't do it.

Congratulations

Long time since the last update. It's been two months of 130 work hrs/ two weeks, which probably explains why I've been all but absent around here.
Since the last update, I've managed to pay for tickets from Winterpeg to Demonton for my two monsters in July. It will be their first visit to see me in about three years. I probably would never have...

The censorship part. I missed that.
andvari:
Uh, never mind. Found it.

Holloween was a bust. Everyone was so freaked out that I was wearing a white shirt that no one recognized the costume, despite the frequent name changes as I went to different groups. Add to that the 13.25 hour work day and the thing was not pleasant at all.

I'm going to work dressed as Cornelius and Travis.
joual:
Awesome. Another thing you can do on Halloween is dress exactly like your boss, walk into his office early, take it over, and fire him when he walks in the door. It's all niiiice and legal.

I've had to put someone on my ignore list for acting just like a Nazi. It's a shame such people exist, and that they exist in SG, but there you have it.
Incidentally, I am thankful that libel laws protect fair comment.
scatxbiotch:
I've had people I consider friends and I have discovered by accident that they are closed minded, homophobic, racist or sexist I am always stunned and sad But I would rather have given them the benifit of the doubt from the start because I gain in the mean time.

if I had been there, as every song was fading out I would have yelled for them to play songs that were actually by Fields of the Nephilim or The Mission.

-D, (amusing no one but himself since 1975)
joual:
Thanks, buddy, I try and keep it light. If I didn't tell them what it meant people would be like "Joual..Jewel? Why would a dude call himself Jewel?" Which would, of course, make me say "Calisse...."

So how's Alberta working out for you, if you don't mind my asking.

For those who don't know, September just ended yesterday and I'm glad it's finally over.
I missed writing that September 30 was the boy's b-day. Paul turned 10. Happy belated b-day favored son.

One down, four to go. KMFDM has come and gone. A little surprised they didn't play "Professional Killer," given that it's featured in the merchandise. This doesn't match the other setlist I've seen online, but I'd swear it's what I heard.

1. Hau Ruck
2. Son of a Gun
3. Free Your Hate
4. Every Day Is A Good Day
5. Terror
6. Mini Mini...

By the end of all this, I may very well be all concerted out. However, given that at least two of these concerts are shows I never thought I'd be able to see, I couldn't miss the opportunity.

Sept. 26: KMFDM at Starlight
October 20: Bauhaus at the Centre for the Arts
October 25: Metric at Starlight
November 3: Front 242 at Plush
November 16:...

Before this summer and the impending trip to Calgary to see NIN, I had never traveled for a concert. Now I'm planning up to three. Fucking Vancouver!
