i know that broke stuff far too well. I worked out at one point last year with my mortgage, credit cards & business loan for the race team i owed 200,000+ 
However that has come down to a more managable 160,000 now. Crap whichever way you look at it. I had to take a proper job this winter just to pay the bills. And boy does it suck.

Most lenders should do you a repayment plan, just be honest and explain the situation, as long as you can pay something I don't think they can refuse you, going through the CAB helps too.
I think with the agencies you have to prove yourself a bit, once they know you are reliable etc you'll get more work put your way.
