Housing is tight and expensive, but the culture is (to me) one of the two or three best places in the U.S. Housing is a little better on the East Bay, but you have to use BART or (if you have a car) cross a bridge to get to SF and parking is almost impossible without significant fees). I live in the East Bay, and love it here. My best friend and her hubbie live a few miles away, and although the specific area I live in isn't very exciting, it's a short trip to get whatever I want. PM me if you want for any specific questions.  Would love to have you out here.

Unfortunately, the SG Community is just a microcosm of the world at large... and even being an 'alternative' Community does not immune us from being subjected to the ugliness of society... but it contains the best of society as well.  I find that such behavior that you describe actually makes it much easier on me to determine who I personally and preferably wish to hang with, or interact with.  I take nothing anyone does or says personally if I can't see or touch them beyond an electronic device... why put energy into things beyond your control?  I do hope things get better for you!  ♥

kudos!  and, similar to what someone already mentioned, there is good and bad in community... there is always going to be "that person" just as there will always be "those people."  even in such a place as this which, one would think, would embrace the 'outcast.'  ...and being a bystander isn't all that bad, you get to see the truth of things faster than most!

So I decided since I made the huge life goal to quit smoking that I could take the money I am saving and treat myself to a tattoo. :) I can't wait! It's been too long since I've been under the needle lol.
