We will have to make strawberry ice cream next visit with buttermilk and grand marnier.

I have yet to click the second spoiler, but I can assure you I am totally on board with you.

The black lager fermenting downstairs is pissing me off. It's already vented the contents of its airlock once and popped the top seal of the fermenter once. I might have to weight the lid so it doesn't explode. I can't wait to put it in my belly. A week in primary, then probably another to condition, then into the bottle. Another two to carbonate and...

I wish wine could be made as fast as beer...I don't think I'd ever leave my house.

I'm making more beer. Yes, again. No I don't have a problem. Well, lack of beer maybe, but that'll be fixed up in a month or so. It's the season that behooves me. The weather is getting right in the range where cranking out some quality ale is a little easier thanks to Mother Nature. Not too warm not too cold in the house. Just...

One hting I didn't get to do last time I was up that way was taste your homebrews. I must remedy this next time i'm in the area.

It appears that once again I did not meet you. Bitter, burning disappointment. Unless I did meet you but was too drunk to remember, in which case hurray.

It's finally good spring weather and I've got an itching to fill the neighborhood with the aroma of malted barley. Homebrew time indeed, and I've got hefe on the brain. I'm going to be really, really careful lifting big pots of scalding liquid too as to avoid any back injury. Lift with the legs, Snake! The legs!

And now tunes:

I am hot and cold on Hefe's.

My one complaint about southern cal is that there is this douchy need for beer to be extreme in order to be great, and hefe's don't get a lot of respect. Yet there are very few brewers that make one that stood out to me.

There's no way you could be wrong, but I'm thinking it might be fun to actually GO to this place and eat their brats.

I hung out with BabyBlue and EnergyChannel this weekend. We had a food orgy. First was trip to the asian foodmall where the locals fled with their purchases and screamed "gojira!" as I advanced upon them. The place had so much awesome stuff I couldn't read. The veggies where for the most part self-explanatory, but the meat counter was a tad bit Texas Chainsaw Massacre....

I called this morning, and got voicemail, so hopefully someone calls me back.

insert sadface here.

Hmmm, I think starting very simple will be best. The first part of the sun salutation sequence will be good. Stand with your arms straight over your head, and slowly bend forward, keeping your knees bent the whole time. You will wind up with your abdomen resting on your thighs. Just stand like this, letting your back stretch over your bent legs. Slowly straighten back up, keeping knees bent until you are upright.

To strengthen your back, gentle backbends will help. The simplest is the sphynx pose. Lie on your stomach, with your elbows directly under your shoulders. Gently pull forward a bit, keeping your elbows in place. Elevate your chin slightly.

Another good back strengthener is the boat pose. Again, lying on your stomach, you can either have your arms straight ahead of you, or out to the sides, or right by your body. Lift your arms and legs off the floor, not to much. Hold where it's comfortable. This will build back strength slowly and steadily.

Let me know how these go, and I'll keep thinking of other things you can do.

I just finished the last of the weekend food orgy today, with the leftover noodle stirfry. Deeelicious. love

I grilled some steaks the other night while my friend Steve the Transient Feline watched and rubbed up on my legs. Aww. So to be a nice guy I left some steak trimmings out for my kitty friend. This lead to what I can only call the most epic feline battle royale in the tri-county area. The growlings and rawrs were so loud outside around...

Beef teriyaki with yakisoba sounds divine! And that mead was delicious, so if you want to bring that again, that would be awesome. I think Kevin's going to invite people over on Saturday, whoever is left in town that is. You can of course stay with us.
_margot_:
It was one of the weirdest things I have ever experienced. Makes for entertainment, though..

I hope they like me. I almost feel like I met the boy of my dreams, in job form.

Fuck your swine flu, I'm having pork chops for dinner. Also p'taters and gravy, aka "the one thing I can't live without". Seriously, I look forward to being old and having no teeth. Best excuse to eat potatoes and gravy constantly ever, other than senility. I plan to save that one though for days I don't wear pants in public.

I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday like a good little consumer. I usually stop there once a month as they often red tag stuff for giveaway prices. That said I found this cookbook marked down to $4.99. Sure it's in relation to AB, but I can replace that in the recipes with a good beer. Problem solved. I leafed through it and I saw...

Sometimes the world has a sense of humor. A fine example is the fact that the professor who just gave a lecture on hygiene and sanitation as it pertains to food safety had terrible body odor. Take that irony.

Also, I don't see swine flu as a bad thing. A few million deaths might clear up that unemployment thing.

Working @GameStop, while I can enjoy being around my fellow geeks, it's the geeks who have no concept of what soap and deoderant/anti-perspirant are that make me want to shuffle them loose from the mortal coil.

Also, FEH to swine flu. I wasn't scared of SARS, bird flu, even SuperHerpes.

Also, the brewpub got the chocolate porter back. This made me a happy camper.
