My job's been getting a lot more challenging since the bosses at Saggios had a new set of (10) registers installed, which meant that we could put more cashiers at the counter, and the orders could come back faster. Basically, I've lately been having to keep up with orders that literally print out approximately one per second during a lunch rush.
So today I expressed my "concern" about this to my manager by telling him that I deserved a .50/hour raise for putting up with this. Though I was fully prepared to threaten to leave if I didn't get a raise for the increased workload, it turns out there was no need. The owner of the place had told him the same thing two days ago, and my raise goes into effect on this pay period.
Now I can start a nice little savings for financing my eventual world domination.
It's all falling into place.
