Skydiving wasn't the thrill I was making it out to be. It's fun, and somewhat exciting, but I didn't get the much-touted rush of adrenaline. Neither frightening nor truly exciting, jumping out of an airplane would be much more fulfilling alone rather than strapped to someone else.
The view, however, is movingly spectacular, and man, lemmetellya: being poised in that door, looking at the earth 13,500 below and a roaring prop engine to your right is a wondrous feeling.
What I especially liked:
1.) The silence once the parachute deploys. Peace incarnate.
2.) The aforementioned view, replete with minor curvature of the earth.
3.) The sensation of falling at terminal velocity, the crisp and refreshing nature of air at higher altitudes, and gum ricocheting around my mouth due to rushing air during freefall.
4.) The plane ride. Whee!
What I especially dislked:
1.) The harness. Ow, my groin.
2.) The shotgun nature of the five minute instruction on how to jump out of an aeroplane.
3.) The harness. Ow, my groin.
4.) Synchronizing movement in the harness.
Suffice to say, I'll be doing it again, but I think I'll wait until I can do it alone, as I think it would be a much more exciting endeavour that way.
But hey, I'm alive. That's a plus!

_bossanova_:
The fact you're alive is a definite plus!
That sounds very exciting; I don't think I could get off of the plane, though.
You're brave!

Yea, you looked pretty fucking hard core in your black jump suit, and your black world war two jump boots. The only thing that was missing was a big black parachute.
