My first day of class and the joy of sucking up to your teacher:
So I'm a slacker. I didn't register for classes, so I have to just show up and somehow get the teacher to let me in. Today I had to get into my Jewelry class. I got there and got a seat, then proceeded to wait as the teacher called up the begining class (beginer through advanced are all in the same room at the same time, since there is only one room equiped for jewelry) and had to explain how he was only going to take the first three (of nine) people on the wait list. luckily I'm not a beginer. After the beginers all left, the intermediate and advanced students were called up. Everybody except for me and one other girl had registered, and that girl was on the waitlist. I wasn't. There was only one seat left. But with my EXPERT mind controll skills, I convinced the teacher that he should let me in anyway. (we both agreed that someone would drop) but until then, I don't have a seat.
Tomorrow I will attempt a biology class (which I don't think will be too hard to add) and third semester japaneese (which is being offered for the first time at COM so I expect it'll be a real chalange to get in). I may have to deploy my massive sucking up skills. Last time I tried to get into a japaneese class when I hadn't registered, I wore a shirt that said, "nihonjin ni naritai" which means, "I want to become Japaneese". Sensei liked it and let me in. I have since lost that shirt and the only japaneese-language shirt I have says, "baka na gaijin" which means, "stupid forigner". I don't know if that will have quite the charm of the last one. I guess we'll see.
Wish me luck!
