Being the culturally-aware peacekeepers that we are, everything here comes to a halt on Friday (the Muslim sabbath) and Saturday (the Jewish sabbath.) Sunday we all go back to work: Christians suck it up.
Typical morale events at North Camp:
Sunday- back to work, X-Files reruns on Armed Forces Television, drink a beer
Monday- street hockey, have a drink
Tuesday- make your own pizza night, maybe some red wine
Wednesday- bingo night, have a drink
Thursday- everyone gets drunk night (more than usual)
Friday- 3 month old movie at 6pm, more EtOH
Saturday- same movie, only at 2pm. Less drinking.
All in all, we're like a bunch of white-collar convicts in a minimum security prison with 15 bars. I'm not complaining, I thrive on routine.
On 3 July I'll be promoted to Major. The additional $$$ will be nice, but the sense of progression will be nicer. Then on the 4th I turn 42. Assuming I'll live to 84, I'm at the midway point.
And I still have no idea what it's all about!
