It's been a while... It's difficult to verbalize the dichotomy of emotions that I've experienced for 2011 so far.

The awesome:

- I got promoted at work, a job I already loved without the promotion
- I got promoted again
- I earned 2 raises because of these promotions
- I was accepted to ASU's Master of Social Work program and start in August
- I have a good friend in Los Angeles with an extra bedroom and I love going out there to experience L.A. life
smile

The shitty:

- My good friend Jason, who I've know for 13-14 years, and is father to an amazing young boy, passed away from cancer at 30 a few weeks ago, he was also a close friend to Riona
- My parents officially divorced and I'm in the middle but trying not to be
- My beautiful girlfriend and I split up this week, her toothbrush is in my bathroom looking at me... I should probably throw it away but don't know how
- One of my favorite people on here, Bexi, left while I was out of commission and I didn't get to say goodbye - her style, photos and blogs were one of my primary reasons for logging on so that sucks - she will be missed and I hope she knows

Loss is certainly a guaranteed part of life. I get that. It's just been a lot so far this year.

You know what makes me happy? Hearing this song and remembering the first time I listened to it with my dad as a little kid:

And this, always a favorite of mine:

I would like to make a toast to you, SG friends, for being here to receive a toast while others cannot.

To what or to who would you make a toast to?

audrisa:
frown Lots of losses in your life. I'm sry to hear that. Good news on your 2 promotions! Grats!

I would make a toast to one of my bestfriends Jean, (who was also my client). Although she was 55 years older than me, I still loved her, and I enjoyed her company. She passed away last August, and I miss her terribly.
