Ah, the enkai. That Japanese tradition of going out and getting plowed with your coworkers in honor of someone entering or leaving the company.

Last night we had one for two people leaving the Board of Education. There's a bit of ritual to it, people have specific places to sit depending on their importance (both within the company and the celebration), and people deliver speeches before we can start imbibing. After that, though... yeah. Highlights include completely not understanding one of the guys when he was trying to say "bourbon" for about 5 minutes and dealing with a flirtatious coworker by reminding him that I'm the same age as his daughter and therefore it was weird for him to hit on me.

I came home last night, and my computer actually intervened and prevented me from making a whole bunch of drunken posts. Probably for the best, although I think I got one in on the 2 pg min. thread.
